About the role
It is the responsibility of the National Course Coordinator as a leader in their field to promote courses which reflect Industry demands. The National Course Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all course curriculum is delivered within appropriate ANMAC and government standards and guidelines. The Course Coordinator must adhere to compliance and regulations to ensure the organisation remains compliant as an RTO with ASQA and with ANMAC.
Position responsibilities:
National Course Coordinator needs to manage the delivery of training which includes all aspects of:
- Diploma of Nursing co-ordination in all States where the program is delivered.
- industry consultation for the development of courses relevant to the industry – develop, review and subsequently make amendments to the programs ensuring compliance, currency and relevancy
- developing budgets for course delivery
- ensuring ETEA’s Policies are implemented and are compliant with the NVR standards also ensuring they are compliant with course regulations and relevant legislations;
- ensure exemplary services are delivered to students, including:
- Student progress monitored weekly
- Development and implementation of approved session plans
- Monitoring of student progression, attendance, compliance and successful completion of programme
- Ensuring the full student cycle is both pristine, rigorous and compliant
- Ensuring that relevant industry work placements are negotiated and available for students
- Ensuring that student welfare and privacy issues are protected
- progress and assessment of students, compliance with relevant regulations,
- management of staff and resources for their Unit/Department, effective management of teaching staff
- strengthen ETEA’s position with Industry and stakeholders
- deliver Human Resource services to employees to enable a continuous cycle of
- development in their roles and monitor their performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- manage the recruitment process for new departmental administrative and teaching staff
- facilitate a safe and productive working environment by providing support and conflict resolution to all staff and students directly related to this role
- implement operations and procedures to enhance ETEA’s business capabilities through growth and sustainability
- oversee the coordination of teaching aids/ course resources and facilities
- oversee the training staff to ensure classroom maintenance is up to date
- maintain continuous Professional Development to ensure knowledge of current industry developments informs the development of teaching programs.
Key Performance Indicators:
- ANMAC Compliance for the Program Accreditation
- relationships established with industry and relevant professional bodies to enhance the organisations reputation and establish partnerships to ensure work placements are secured for all enrolled students
- documented and timely reports provided on quarterly basis to demonstrate commitment to relevant and up to date industry training that ensures ‘work ready’ students at the completion of their course – based on feedback from industry, staff and students
- ensure all training staff are appropriately qualified and experience or are making acceptable progress towards achieving qualification
- documented effective management of courses to ensure they are compliant with government and industry standards eg. conducted mini internal audits, conducted supervision of trainers, conducted staff performance appraisal, etc.
- progress towards achievement of organisational objectives
Key Working Relationships:
- this position requires you to work closely with the General Manager to ensure that the organisational needs are met in a professional and timely manner
- work cooperatively with Compliance Officer to ensure that all regulatory requirements for teaching delivery and course management are met
- work collaboratively with the marketing department to ensure recruited students are successfully enrolled in scheduled courses
- you are required to communicate effectively with all training staff either directly or indirectly through the in a way that proves beneficial to the effective delivery of a particular course
- this role also requires you to have contact and communication with industry and relevant professional bodies
- you are required to participate as an active member in the organisations CAC (Course Advisory Committee) based on your experience, knowledge, time and availability
Selection Criteria:
Required
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Completed Bachelor of Nursing
- Masters in either Clinical Education or Nursing related field
- well-developed course management skills
- knowledge of Moodle
- knowledge of VETrak and understanding of NVR standards and requirements
- understanding and knowledge of course regulations and relevant legislations
- established relationships and contacts with industry and relevant professional bodies
- eagerness to develop new courses and broaden into new markets
- proven ability to manage time effectively and achieve both short term and long term objectives
- experience in delivering and assessing
- international students and domestic
- experience working in an RTO in a similar position
- sound written communication skills including the ability to compile and prepare reports, submissions and other documents
Desirable
- Experience in ANMAC Accreditation and Compliance for the Diploma of Nursing
- experience working in a compliance regulated position/
- proficient computer skills in all Microsoft applications
- ability to work both as part of the team and independently
