How do I apply for this course?
You can call or email us to book in an appointment time to come and see us. Alternatively you can send any information request under Information Pack where we will contact you within a few working days. An enrolment form can be found under Admissions together with a credit card authorisation form. This can be posted to our PO Box address. A deposit fee of $300 is required at the time of enrolment.
How long does the course last?
Depending on the course you have selected the duration until you will receive your certificate is usually five to six months for Cert III courses and around 12 months for Cert IV courses. However times might vary depending on your personal circumstances.
What do I need to complete to get my certificate?
All of our courses are delivered as a mixture of class-room based learning and practical placement. To obtain your certificate you are required to attend all class days, to complete assigned tasks for all units and complete a set number of hours in placement. The hours required for the placement will be advised at the beginning of your training and vary depending on your course.
Is there Government funding and or concessions to assist me?
ETEA does receive funding from various Government departments, refer to the government funding section on the website for further information. The students eligible for government funding may be eligible for concessions.

I have been working in the industry for quite some time without formal qualification. Do I still have to complete the full course?
Depending on your circumstances we can offer a process called RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning).
Recognition of prior learning is a process where a person with work experience can have their skills and knowledge assessed, with the aim of getting a formal qualification.
If successful this process will reduce the number of units you need to complete to obtain your certificate. Please contact our office for further detail.
Does ETEA organize my practical placement?
ETEA will assist you in finding suitable placements, however the domestic students have their opportunity to find their own practical placement. In the past this process has facilitated successful employment for a majority of our students.
Can I complete a course under an apprentice / traineeship and what are the requirements to do so?
Yes we have a number of positions available to complete a course under an apprentice / traineeship. In order to complete an apprentice / traineeship you are required to find a host employer who will employ you during the duration of the training for at least 15 hours per week.
